IIMR organized a two-dayvirtual orientation and induction program for the fresh entrants to the undergraduate courses. The aim of this program was to make the students well acquainted with the campus life of IIMR. It included making them comfortable with the system and making them aware of various programs and initiatives like Placement Opportunities, Employability Development Programs, SIGs, Clubs and Online Classes that are at their disposal to help them not only foster a better professional life but also personal paving way for their holistic development.
The event was held on 15th and 16th October, 2020 and was flaunted with the presence ofHon. DG Sir, ShriArun S Bhatnagar, Dr. Simranjeet Kaur Sandhar, Principal, IIMR, faculty members, staff and enthusiasticnewly admitted students.
The first day started with SaraswatiVandana and formally inaugurated with the address of DG Sir. He welcomed students with warmth and gave his blessings for their new journey. Respected Sir gave tips to students to excel in personal and professional endeavor. He focused on improving communication skills, developing personality and being committed towards institution and tasks. He ensured students of high quality teaching deliverance and ample opportunities available to the students being a part of the IIMR family that would help them become future leaders in their corporate endeavors. Students had learnt life lessons to be a good human being.
Later, the students were enlightened with the wisdom of Dr. Simranjeet Kaur Sandhar whotalked about Academic processes and briefed about SIG’s, helping students to understand the importance of Skill development. She illustrated the need and importance of developing a learning instinct in the students to meet the challenges of the corporate world and become a better individual as well. She highlighted the role IIMR would play in helping students gain expertise in various academic and allied streams.
The guest speaker of the day was Mr. NihitShrivastava, Sales Head, SAARC, Vinsys Information Technology. He made students aware about the importance of Goal setting. He motivated students to wisely utilize three years of graduation in improving communication skills, reading and networking.
The students were introduced to various dignitaries, faculty members and the staff of the college. Day one ended with a student activity which was very well planned and executed by second year undergraduate students of the institute. Students actively participated in the event.
Day two of the event witnessed key personnel and faculty members briefing the students on various opportunities available and areas of interest at the college. This included Placement and Training, CDC Cell, Academic System at IIMR, SIGs, Library Resources, Online Class Practices and details on Syndicate, Clubs and Activities. It was followed by another student activity conducted by second year undergraduate students. Later an open discussion forum was provided to the students to discuss and clarify any related query. The day ended with a formal thanksgiving note.
