  • Short Term Training Program (STTP) on Process Modeling and Simulation of Micro and Macro (Steady state & Dynamic) Models

    Department of Chemical Engineering, Indore Institute of Science & Technology is organised one week Short Term Training Program (STTP)  on “Process Modeling and Simulation of Micro and Macro (Steady state & Dynamic) Models ” from 17th to 22nd February, 2020 under TEQIP III funded by RGPV Bhopal.

    On first day of STTP Mr. Hemant Jain, Director, Neon Infotech Pvt Ltd Indore talked about the complete design steps for a process plant and also focused on the preparation of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) and PFDs. In second session of the first day, Dr. Vineet Aniya, Scientist, CSIR – IICT, Hyderabad enlighten students with the equipment designing using ASPEN PLUS. At the end of the session he also discussed about the importance of bio plastic and its manufacturing process. The second day of the training program was delivered by Mr. Ajay Satpute, Managing Director of Converge Engineering Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai on Aspen HYSIS and FluidFlow Software used for Process Simulation. Mr. Rajesh S Joshi, Application Engineer, Honeywell Automation India ltd. delivered the session on ASPEN PLUS and KATMAR Software used for heat exchanger, Evaporator and Reboiler design. He has given exercises on industrial design calculations of heat exchange. Students did modeling and simulation of industrial problems through software. Dr. Babji Srinivasan, Assistant Professor ,IIT Gandhinagar presented expert lecture on Process Modeling and Simulation for Industrial Applications. He also discussed about the Machine learning techniques in process industries and given details on the design of heat exchangers with respect to fouling factor. Focused on case studies of Amul dairy industry ,Gujarat to make students to understand the wastewater treatment.

    With this session STTP is concluded successfully with total number of 120 students participation from Bhopal , Ujjain , VIT Pune, Indore, Gujarat etc. Study material and various  software are provided to the students to practice at home. Certificates are provided to the all participated students.
