  • National Science Day 2025 Celebration

    IIST proudly hosted the National Science Day (NSD) 2025 on 28th February and 1st March 2025. The event, supported by the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), DST, GOI, New Delhi, and the M.P. Council of Science and Technology (MPCST), Bhopal, served as an inspiring platform to honour scientific achievements and promote innovation among students and researchers.

    With the strategic mentorship of Mr. Arun S. Bhatnagar (IRS), Group Advisor, IIST reaffirmed its dedication to advancing scientific research and technological innovation. The National Science Day commemorates the discovery of the Raman Effect by the eminent physicist Sir C.V. Raman, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. This year’s theme emphasized scientific advancements, technological progress, and innovation. The event witnessed an insightful online talk by Dr. Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Anil Kothari, Director General of Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MPCST), Bhopal, Dr. Rashmi Sharma, NCSTC Division Head, and Mr. Vikas Shinde, Principal Scientist at MPCST.

    A Documentary on C.V. Raman was showcased, paying tribute to his groundbreaking contributions to physics. This was followed by an engaging Principal’s Address. Esteemed guest speakers Mr. Arpit Saxena (Director – Head of Govt. Corporate Affairs, White Shark Technology Private Limited) and Dr. Bhawna Chourasia (Professor of Physics, Govt. Holkar Science College) delivered thought-provoking discussions on the evolving landscape of science and technology.

    The event featured dynamic competitions and exhibitions, including an Ideathon, poster exhibition, project model competition, and Scientific Showcases. A special Documentary on Indian Scientists’ Contributions was presented, celebrating the legacy of Indian scientific pioneers.

    The event culminated in a Prize Distribution Ceremony, recognizing the achievements and innovative contributions of the participants.The participants had the invaluable opportunity to interact with experts, present their innovative ideas, and compete for prestigious awards. IIST remains steadfast in its mission to foster scientific curiosity and technological advancement.
