In a significant initiative to bridge the gap between industry-standard tools and academic pedagogy,, the Electronics and Communication (EC) Department of the Indore Institute of Science and Technology (IIST) organized a high-impact technical session titled “Empowering Engineering Education with MATLAB & Simulink.” Held on November 25, 2025, the event aimed to strengthen faculty competency across disciplines through industry-standard tools and outcome-based teaching methodologies.
As a top engineering college in Indore, IIST has consistently emphasized bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology and academic delivery. This session marked another milestone in enhancing teaching-learning practices at the institute.
The session was held under the visionary guidance of Shri Arun S. Bhatnagar, Group Advisor, IIST, whose leadership continues to drive the institute’s mission of academic excellence. Faculty members from multiple departments including Computer Science (CSE), Information Technology (IT), Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics & Communication Engineering actively participated and explored the extensive benefits of the institute’s MATLAB Campus-Wide License.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Praful Pai, Manager, Electrical & Computer Engineering at MathWorks. Dr. Pai showcased the powerful capabilities of the MATLAB & Simulink ecosystem, covering:
Interactive simulation development
Automated assessments for outcome-based education
Real-world engineering applications across domains
From control system modeling for Mechanical Engineering to signal processing for CSE and structural analysis for Civil Engineering, the session highlighted MATLAB’s versatility in elevating engineering pedagogy at one of the best B.Tech colleges in Indore.
The event was seamlessly coordinated with the support of
Dr. Keshav Patidar, Principal, IIST
Dr. Ankit Jain, Director Academics
