Course Objective

To produce the Chemical Engineers who can design, analyse, optimize and control processing operations, or guide others who perform these functions to meet the technological changes of the future.

The Program

The program enables the students to develop the ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety. The students can identify, formulate and solve engineering problems with the understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.

The course will equip the under graduates with the broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic and societal context. The students will learn the use of techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practices.

The Program Design

Spread over eight semesters in four years the program offers students the opportunity to play a important role in bringing the technological revolution in the in the fields of Chemical Engineering.

Teaching Pedagogy

In Indore Institute of Science & Technology each faculty member is involved in making responsible Chemical engineers for the conception, design and operation of processes for the production, transformation and transportation of materials. The qualified faculties inculcate the aptitude of applying the emerging technologies for upgrading the value of existing materials, in young budding engineers.

The teaching pedagogy combines lecture, tutorials-cum- discussions, presentations, online assignments, quizzes, expert talks, comprehensive viva self-learning projects with the help of modern teaching aids like computers, LCD projectors etc. Advance preparation and participation by the students is encouraged to further enrich the unique learning experience.

The Department of Chemical Engineering of IIST, Indore is well known for providing a challenging academic program to its students. We also encourage our students to gain real-world engineering experience through industrial visits & projects etc.. Moreover, our graduate course offers exciting and multi-disciplinary opportunities for students to research and explore. Students at IIST get excellent opportunities to work alongside their advisors. IIST has state-of-the-art teaching tools and smart ICT resources. The department also offers specializations in different areas to its undergraduate students as well.
